What are they, you ask?

Let me start by providing you with a little history: Persimmons are a delicious, highly coveted and regularly consumed fruit in Asia and Europe. The persimmon, which originated in Asia, laid its roots in Spain centuries ago in the region of Ribera del Xúquer near Valencia (my hometown). It was here that something extraordinary happened; a new variety of persimmon emerged and we named it “Rojo Brillante.”

This special variety, known as Rojo Brillante, had to stand out. In our quest to share this gift from Spain with the world, we gave it a mark of distinction: a new name. The trademarked name Persimon® is certified and protected by the Denomination of Origin Ribera de Xúquer. This D.O. guarantees exceptional quality standards. The D.O. designation is recognized by the European Union.
